Organize a Food Collection
Food drives raise awareness of hunger in the community, collect food for people in need and play an essential role in alleviating hunger. Food drives are great activities that are easy and rewarding. Everyone can get involved and help make a difference in the lives of their hungry neighbors.
A food drive can consist of a collection of a variety of non-perishable food items, individually packaged food for our BackPack Program, baby items and non-food items. Please review the documents below for a list of needed items.

We'd be happy to help you coordinate a successful event. If you would like to host a food drive for Second Harvest, we can provide you with barrels for food and Second Harvest banners and signage. Please call Samantha Sherwin at 814-459-3663, ext. 108, for help with planning your event. Your project will be recognized at our Bread Box Awards.
Schedule a speaker to come to your meeting, church, business or school before your collection. Learning about hunger can help motivate your team and inform you about hunger here in our community.
